Desert Island Discs
During lock-down the NTO has been running a weekly desert island discs scheme on the orchestra mailer. Players and friends of the orchestra have been submitting pieces which have a particular significance for them, or which they simply love and want to share with others.
We're aiming for 50 desert island discs to mark our 50th year

12. 11th September - "Black is the colour" and other songs, Berio
13. 18th September - High Germany, trad folk song
14. 25th September - Rose Adagio, Tchaikovsky
15. 2nd October - Sinfonietta, Janáček
16. 9th October - Violin Concerto in D minor Op 47, Sibelius

18. 23rd October - Central Park in the Dark - Charles Ives
19. 30th October - Pavane pour une infante défunte, Ravel
20. 6th November - Last Spring, Grieg
21. 13th November - Tannhauser Overture - Wagner

23. 27th November - Quintet in G Minor, K 516 Mozart (Yes a repeat - but the player in question didn't want to change it)
